As one of the original pioneers of the freeskiing movement, and former U.S.and World Extreme Skiing Champion, Swany has brought a tremendous amount of industry experience to the MSI team. As one of skiing's most recognized, photographed and filmed athletes, he brings an invaluable perspective to the creation of action-sports events and competition.

 

Born and raised in Manhattan, Dave attended the University of Vermont where he received a degree in Political Science and a minor in French. He grew up skiing in Vermont, racing USSA and FIS until age 20. With an endless list of competitive accomplishments, film credits, guiding and mountain operations experience, Dave is a well-respected athlete and a solid industry professional.

 

Since founding MSI, Dave has worked to bring attention to the company through his extensive industry connections and years of experience in event production. His in-depth understanding of competition as both athlete and organizer allows MSI to create exciting, professional events that reflect the continuing progression and needs of the sport.
