Ryan O'Connell

MID-ATLANTIC LOGISTICS MANAGER 
 
"Ryno" joined MSI in December 2006 and became Mid-Atlantic Logistics Manager in September of 2007. He is responsible for Red Bull Promotions & Events in addition to warehousing logistics for MSI's Mid-Atlantic division, which is based out of Philadelphia, PA.
 
Originally from sunny Portland, Maine, Ryno received a B.A. in English with a concentration in writing from Goucher College in Baltimore in May 2002. Moving back to Portland after graduating, Ryan worked as a deckhand and first mate for Casco Bay Lines from 2002 until 2006, and played drums for Sidecar Radio, touring up and down the East Coast and into parts of Canada. The band released one album, played over 400 shows in 3 years, and was named Best Rock Act in the 2006 Portland Phoenix Best Music Poll. Ryan also completed a semester long graduate program in writing at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, as well as dabbling in surfing, hiking, skiing, monkey business, and contributing articles to numerous Maine publications.
 
In December 2007, Ryno finished up his Master's degree in Writing Studies at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, graduating with a 3.8 G.P.A. and completing his thesis, It Will Be Amazing Eventually, a collection of eight essays about his four years spent in Maine after college.
 
Ryno spends most of his time in Philadelphia with Dugan, his sister's dog, who is the official mascot of MSI Mid-Atlantic and contributing articles to Philadelphia's City Paper, as well as Philadelphia Metroblogs and his own blog, My Blogs are Tops!
